Core Competencies
  • Working skills in the principles of clinical & social epidemiology and biostatistics;
  • Proficiency in the critical evaluation of evidence;
  • Proficiency in performing systematic reviews and technology assessments to meet medical & marketing research questions;
  • Strategies in evidence to obtain commercial advantage.

Program Content

Applying the Evidence™ is constructed in a modular format to provide companies with greater flexibility in terms of in-house training program design and study timetables.

The individual courses can be customised and arranged to meet specific professional development training requirements (see program table below). The complete program can be undertaken over a minimum period of 26 weeks.

Teaching Methods & Course Structure

The Applying the Evidence™ program is designed in a vocational format that accommodates part time study with a high degree of self paced learning to provide participants with flexibility to manage their own study timetable.

We are recommending that you allow 4-8 hours per week of study to keep pace with the course over the study period.

The program has a strong emphasis on practical exercises in the application of evidence-based practice and methodology. In addition to prescribed reading and progressive quiz exercises in the body of the courses, at the completion of each course, students will be given a progress assignment that will provide them with individualised feedback. This is aimed at ensuring proficiency in key concepts and skills before proceeding to the next course.

Feedback on progress assignments are provided relative to the needs analysis identified at enrolment. To assist individuals and companies assess their evidential-based competency requirements, Evident Education has developed the evaluation tool GEvPCompAssess™.

Evident Education's evidence-based training is unique in its ability to perform against a set of measurable standards. Applying the Evidence™ uses the Assessor™ competency assessment and pharmaceutical testing standard. Assessor™ evaluates performance relative to a set of proficiencies required to perform GEvP. This validated assessment methodology assesses candidate performance against prescribed standards (e.g. basic, intermediate & advanced) or those set by the client and by job function area. Assessor is accessed on-line and enables remote learning assessment.

Who Should Apply & Entry Qualifications

Applicants will normally hold a tertiary qualification in a science, medical, statistical or related subject and work in the pharmaceutical or health related area.

You should enrol if you have a career interest and/or work in: Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Health Economics, Clinical Research, Medical Information, Product Development, Business Development within a Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences organisation.
