Turning Evidence into Strategic & Competitive
Advantage workshop – 1 day Evident
Specialist Extension program
Descriptive Synopsis
This workshop provides a set of methodologies to create effective
commercial outcomes utilising the evidence from two comparative products-
chosen by CSL. This one day workshop is delivered in three parts:
Part 1: The Strategic Nature of Evidence –
introduces the commercial aspects of the strategic and dynamic
nature of scientific evidence as applied in the life sciences
industry
Part 2: Putting Evidence into Context - This section
recognises that the Evidence is coloured by its context. “You
can’t change factual evidence but the context can influence how it
is perceived, interpreted and used.”
Part 3: Turning Evidence Into competitive Advantage –
This integrated process places the evidence into commercial
context (i.e. brand, therapeutic & competitive perspectives) and
involves critical appraisals & statistical analysis to inform
comparative evidential insights. A set of methodologies are performed to
formulate messaging or commercial objectives using client chosen clinical
papers.
This two day workshop provides new paradigms of
thinking in terms of how scientific evidence is viewed from both the
medical and marketing business perspectives. The workshop example is best
illustrated in therapeutic context where there are compelling commercial
and competitive issues revolving around a set of pivotal papers. Chosen
outcomes can be improved message formulation or product positioning. The
methodology has broad application in the comparative commercial context.
It is also a very useful program to run in advance of multi-disciplined
strategic “war game” workshops.
The ‘Turning Evidence into Strategic &
Competitive Advantage’ is delivered through senior evidential
lecturers from reputable tertiary institutions and commercial specialists.
